Professor Yazan Hassona is Dean of the School of Dentistry at The Hashemite University, Jordan, and Professor of Oral Medicine and Special Care Dentistry at The University of Jordan. He serves as Head of the Oral Medicine Education Committee and Head of the Oral Medicine Examination Board at the Jordan Medical Council, and is Program Director of the Postgraduate Oral Medicine and Special Care Dentistry program at Jordan University Hospital, where he also practices as a Consultant, in addition to his consultancy role at Saudi Hospital in Amman. Professor Hassona holds a DDS from The University of Jordan, a PhD in Oral Oncology from the University of Bristol, and multiple prestigious specialty fellowships and diplomas from the Royal Colleges of Surgeons in Ireland, England, and Edinburgh. An internationally recognized clinician-scientist, he has published over 120 indexed papers, holds an H-index of 28, and has received numerous national and international research awards, including inclusion in Stanford University’s list of the world’s top 2% of researchers. His clinical and research interests focus on special care dentistry, oral oncology, diagnostic delay in oral diseases, and oral healthcare for vulnerable populations.​
