From the 12th to the 19th of February 2025, the Pharmacy Students’ Research Club (PSRC) successfully organized a one week long workshop focused on the design, development, and implementation of research questionnaires. Held at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Jordan, this workshop brought together pharmacy students to strengthen their research knowledge and practical skills in data collection and analysis.
Believing in the importance of research skills, the workshop focused on questionnaire based research, a fundamental tool for collecting both quantitative and qualitative data.
The sessions covered the entire lifecycle of questionnaire development. From defining the research objective and constructing clear unbiased questions to selecting the appropriate format and ensuring the validity and reliability of the instruments used.
One of the highlights of the workshop was a detailed session on the types of questionnaires conducted by Dr Eman Hammad, a respected faculty professor and expert in questionnaire based research. Dr Eman delivered an engaging presentation where she explained the distinctions between structured and semi-structured formats, self-administered vs interviewer-administered tools, and cross-sectional vs longitudinal survey designs. Her session provided students with essential theoretical insights to select and adapt questionnaire types depending on their research aims and objectives.
