About:

Dr. Rimal Mousa is an Associate Professor of Health Economics and Public Health at the School of Pharmacy, University of Jordan. She earned her PhD from the University of Nottingham, UK (2017), where she developed an economic model to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of primary endocrine therapy versus surgery in older women with primary breast cancer. Her work integrated epidemiological analysis, costing studies, and systematic reviews of economic models, and denovo economic models.

Dr. Mousa is actively involved in health policy and decision-making. She is a former member of the Pricing Committee at the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) and currently serves on the Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Steering Committee at the Ministry of Health (MOH). She also leads the Health Economics and Policy Master’s Program at the Public Health Institute, University of Jordan.

With extensive experience as a subject-matter expert, consultant, and trainer, Dr. Mousa collaborates with national and international organizations such as the Regional Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (RCDC)and Health Care Accreditation Centre (HCAC) to guide policymakers, including UNFPA, the Ministry of Health and the Food and Drug Administration, on economic evaluations, budget planning, and healthcare strategies.

Dr. Mousa is proficient in survival analysis, multinomial logistic regression, generalized linear models, Markov modeling, Monte Carlo simulations, and cost analysis, using Microsoft Access and statistical programming tools such as STATA and TreeAge. Her primary disease focus includes cancer, cardiovascular, and endocrine disorders.

She is a dedicated educator, teaching pharmacoeconomics, health policy, health technology assessment, and health informatics to BSc, PharmD, and medical students at the University of Jordan.​
