Dr. Safaa Al-Wedyan from the Department of Geography at the University of Jordan participated in the Scientific Day titled “Geography and Digital Transformation: Leveraging Technology and Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development and Community Service”, held on 23/10/2025, presenting a research paper entitled: “Estimating Household Water Consumption in Jordanian Rural Households: A Case Study.”
The study aimed to estimate the volume and patterns of domestic water consumption in a rural village in Irbid Governorate and to analyze the factors influencing consumption rates. The findings revealed notable variations in household water use, influenced by factors such as household size, the educational level of the head of household, monthly income, and total built-up area.
The study highlighted the importance of developing effective policies for sustainable water demand management, given the limited water resources and increasing pressures on the sector in Jordan.
