The SOXTHERM: is a fully automated, rapid extraction system for determining fat content in food, feed, and environmental samples, a process based on the traditional Soxhlet method but significantly accelerated and simplified through automation. It operates by immersing a sample in a boiling solvent to liberate fats and then uses a reflux process to dissolve and collect the fat in a solvent-recovery tank. Key features include programmable safety protocols, efficient solvent recovery, visual monitoring of the extraction process, and a robust, explosion-proof design for safe, unattended operation.

Applications:

  • Food and Feedstuffs: Determination of fat content in products such as milk, meat, cereals, chocolate, oilseeds, and feed.
  • Environmental Analysis: Used for the extraction of pollutants like pesticides, PCB, and phenols from environmental samples.
  • Sample Preparation : Serves as an early stage extraction process for various residue and environmental analyses.
