​Prof. Dr. Giorgio Ferriero is specialist of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM). He is Associate Professor in PRM, the Training Programme Director for Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, and the President of the Degree Course in Physiotherapy at the Insubria University, Varese, Italy.
He is the head of the Department of PRM at the Scientific Institute of Tradate (VA), IRCCS, Istituti Clinici Scientifici Maugeri, Italy.
He is the Chief Editor of the European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.
He is member of the Scientific Committee of the ESPRM.and of the Advisory Board of the Cochrane Rehabilitation.
His main field of research is the psychometrical analysis of outcome measures, but his publications cover multiple topics of the rehabilitation field. He published more than 250 papers, 170 of them in indexed journals. His h-Index is 30 (Scopus).
In 2017 he was awarded with the Forchheimer Prize at the ISPO (International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics) World Congress in Cape Town, South Africa, for the most outstanding paper on objective clinical assessment, clinical evaluation or clinical measurement published in Prosthetics and Orthotics International during the years prior to the congress.​
