Welcome to the Experimental Syntax Research Group! Our research team is interested in investigating the intricacies of natural language syntax both empirically and theoretically. We investigate the unique syntax via a wide range of experimental methods that involve acceptability judgments, sentence completion tasks, etc. With these techniques, we will be able to pin down the precise ways in which syntactic structures are processed in the human mind. Our interests cover cross-linguistic comparisons, syntax-semantics interface, and formal grammar theories in use. We attempt to relate experimental data to theoretical frameworks with the purpose of relating highly abstract theory of syntax to actually observed behavior while speaking a language. Join us for the cutting edge in syntactic research into the fundamental principles governing language structure and processing....
