Teaching intercultural competence in second language learning and instruction

The College of Educational Sciences hosted a distinguished academic event on 10/12/2025, organized by Dr. Sahar, featuring linguistics expert Professor Hanfu Mi from the University of Illinois Springfield in the United States of America, delivered remotely. The lecture focused on teaching intercultural competence in second language learning and instruction. The event targeted students enrolled in the Language Learning Theories course, graduate students, specialists in English teacher preparation, and English language teachers. It provided participants with an opportunity to engage with international expertise and discuss contemporary educational practices related to developing intercultural competence in language education, thereby enhancing their academic knowledge and connecting theoretical perspectives with practical applications in the educational field.
