Project for PV Air Conditoning at The University of Jordan

In a research study funded by the Deanship of Scientific Research at The University of Jordan (Approval No. 14/2022-2023), the performance of a solar powered air conditioner was studied.

As global temperatures rise, the energy demand for air conditioning in buildings is increasing. With air conditioning becoming increasingly vital for thermal comfort, this study takes an experimental approach into testing the technical and economic viability of an air conditioner operating under the Jordanian climate powered by solar energy using PV panels, examining on-grid and off-grid scenarios. The findings demonstrate that the economic viability is attractive, enhancing its appeal and potential for widespread adoption.
