Our team has partnerships with:
1) Partnership with the government (public sector) – the Royal Scientific Society, the Higher Council for Science and Technology, and Ministry of Agriculture.
2) Partnership with the private sector – Jordan Society for Scientific Research , and Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation.
These partnerships that are built by collaborating with the public and private sectors would assist in conducting research about food systems transformation to maintain food security and sustainability in Jordan via enhancing the production of foods that are affordable for Jordanians of all socioeconomic statuses.
3) Non-government Partnership with international sector – Partnership with the Foresight for Food System Transformation (FoSTr) Program.
This enables the national process of Jordan's journey toward food systems transformation by collaboration of the University of Jordan and the FoSTr members with at least 50 Jordanian stakeholders as part of the Foresight4Food Initiative. This helped in paving the road for developing new policies regarding food systems transformation in the public and private sectors; food domination in the Jordanian market; as well as food processing, marketing, and food waste or loss.
The major advantages of connecting with FoSTr include:
a. Setting the Agenda for Food Systems Transformation by highlighting desired outcomes like food security, healthy diets, and environmental sustainability.
b. Promoting Dialogue and Collaboration, which helps build a shared understanding of complex food systems, identify common goals, and foster consensus on pathways for change
c. Anticipating Future Challenges and Opportunities by enabling proactive adaptation and innovation in food system.
d. Supporting Policy and Decision-Making, which ensures that policies are aligned with long-term goals for sustainable and resilient food systems
e. Driving Systemic Change, by fostering a shared understanding of the interconnectedness of food systems, FoSTr promotes a holistic approach to change, recognizing that transformation cannot happen in silos
