Professor Iyad Fayez Jafar is a distinguished academic in the Computer Engineering Department at the University of Jordan. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Wayne State University in 2008, following a Master's in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2004, and a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from the University of Jordan in 2001.

Since joining the University of Jordan in 2008, Professor Jafar has progressed through academic ranks, becoming an Associate Professor in 2013 and a full Professor in 2017. His research interests include digital image processing, computer vision, and computer networks. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

In addition to his research, Professor Jafar has held significant administrative roles, including serving as the Chair of the Computer Engineering Department for four years and as Assistant Dean for Computer Affairs for two years. He has also been recognized for his teaching excellence, being elected as the best instructor in his department in 2012.
