Embracing the Future: AI in Architecture Education

Dr. Nancy Al-Assaf participated in the 7th Jordanian International Architectural Conference, titled “Architecture and Artificial Intelligence – Arch-AI”, organized by the Jordan Engineers Association / Architectural Engineering Branch, under the patronage of His Excellency former Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh. The conference was held on April 27–28, 2024, at the Landmark Hotel, Amman – Jordan.


Dr. Al-Assaf delivered a lecture entitled “Embracing the Future: AI in Architecture Education,” in which she addressed the transformative role of artificial intelligence in architectural education, its impact on design studios and pedagogical methodologies, and the evolving relationship between AI, creativity, and academic responsibility. Her lecture highlighted how AI is reshaping architectural thinking and preparing future architects for emerging professional challenges.

The conference explored the significance of AI in shaping the future of architecture and society, presenting it as both a powerful design and construction tool and a creative partner capable of generating new forms of architectural expression. It also examined AI’s role in sustainability, quality of life, and well-being, while providing a platform for academic and professional exchange on AI applications in architecture, engineering, urban design, smart buildings, heritage, and professional practice.
