First Meeting of the JUH Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Committee

The UJ Cystic Fibrosis Research Group held the first-ever meeting of the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Committee at Jordan University Hospital (JUH), marking an important milestone in strengthening multidisciplinary care for children with cystic fibrosis.

The committee was established to standardize evidence-based clinical protocols, ensure coordinated long-term follow-up, enhance infection prevention and patient safety, and support education, training, and research in CF care. The meeting reflected JUH's strong institutional commitment to improving outcomes and quality of life for CF patients.

Key recommendations included developing a dedicated CF clinical guideline, improving patient identification and infection-control measures across clinics, wards, and emergency services, and facilitating access to CF-specific medications. Strengthening hospital data systems and supporting national and international research collaboration were also emphasized.

The committee includes a multidisciplinary team representing Pediatrics, Infection Control, Nursing, Pharmacy, Nutrition, Respiratory Therapy, Patient Affairs, Quality, and Information Technology, ensuring an integrated approach to CF care.

The UJ CF Research Group reaffirms its commitment to advancing comprehensive, equitable, and high-quality CF care at JUH.
