Professor Nadim Obeid is a faculty member in the Computer Information Systems Department at the King Abdullah II School for Information Technology at the University of Jordan. He earned a Diploma in microprocessor applications 1981, a Master's degree in Computer Science in 1983 and a PhD in Computer Science in 1987 from Essex University. He earned a BSc in Mathematics in 1979and a BSc in Business administration in 1980 from the Lebanese University. He completed his secondary education in Al-Jdeideh secondary School in Beirut. He is a member of the editorial board of a few leading scientific journals. He has also served on many national (in Jordan) and prestigious regional committees. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers: 50 are in Q1/Q2 journals, 14 are chapters in Springer-book series, 18 are in IEEE conference proceedings and the remaining are in Scopus/web of science journals and international conferences proceedings. More than 40% of his work is single authored. The areas of research in which he is currently active include Knowledge Representation (Description Logic, Defeasible and Contextual Reasoning, Dialogue and Argumentation Systems), Multiagent systems, Access Control, Data Mining and Machine Learning.
