Researchers in this group have played key roles in designing and implementing projects, providing expert consultations, and contributing to policy development, guideline drafting, and advisory work for governmental, non-governmental, and international organizations. Their achievements reflect the group’s mission to bridge scholarship with practice and to strengthen justice across borders.
Academic Leadership:
Dr. Amal Abuanzeh was elected President of the Administrative Board for the Jordanian Academics Association for Women on 28 September 2024, alongside six colleagues who joined the new board. This milestone enhances the role of Jordanian academics and strengthens institutional development in the field of women’s leadership and higher education.
International Engagement:
Mr. Mohammad Al Gataitat (Mutʿa University) and Ms. Ayat Mohand Atiyeh (University of Jordan) participated in the prestigious Summer Courses on Public International Law at The Hague Academy of International Law (11–29 July 2022), supported by the Hashemite Royal Court. Their participation included lectures and seminars on human rights, refugee protection, and international legal principles, along with visits to the ICJ, ICC, and PCA.
As alumni, both were invited to contribute to the Hague Academy’s 100th Anniversary Colloquium, representing Jordan at this historic international academic gathering.
Community and Student Engagement:
Dr. Amal Abuanzeh organized and supervised a scientific awareness visit for University of Jordan law students to the Anti-Narcotics Department and the Psychiatric Hospital for the Treatment of Drug and Alcohol Addicts (Ministry of Health). The visit was part of her Crimes of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances course and aimed at integrating theoretical legal study with practical application.
Research and Advisory Work:
Group members have provided legal consultations and policy input to Jordanian ministries, NGOs, and international institutions on issues of transitional justice, environmental crimes, and victims’ rights.
Contributions include participation in drafting national guidelines, advising on legal reforms, and engaging in capacity-building initiatives with partners such as the Ministry of Justice, the Swiss Embassy, and DIGNITY – Danish Institute Against Torture.
