As a chair of the scientific committee for the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM) in Jordan, Dr. Otom plays a key role in advancing the field globally. His leadership extends to multiple international organizations, including his position as a Fellow of the International Spinal Cord Society (ISCOS), and representative for the Middle East & North Africa region on ISCOS’s External Relations Committee.

With advanced qualifications, including European Board Certification in PRM and a D-Med Rehab degree from the Royal College of Physicians in London, Dr. Otom is highly regarded for his expertise in clinical rehabilitation. He has significantly contributed to advancing physical rehabilitation through his work as a senior fellow and his role as a reviewer and editorial board member for respected international journals. His career is marked by a strong focus on patient-centered care, the integration of innovative healthcare solutions, and the growth of rehabilitation services on a global scale. Dr. Otom’s professional achievements also include his tenure as the founder and president of the Jordanian Association for Spinal Cord Injury Care (JOSCIC), vice-president of the Jordanian Society of PRM, and board member of several prominent healthcare organizations. A passionate advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities, he is also a trustee on the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD).

Dr. Otom’s ongoing work aims to leverage his wealth of clinical and administrative experience to continue transforming healthcare, with a special focus on rehabilitation medicine, throughout the East Mediterranean and beyond.
