Our group has recently initiated a research partnership with AGYA (Arab-German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities), an international institution which aims at facilitating cooperation between Arab and German early-career scholars by creating and maintaining venues for academic research networks. Funded by AGYA, the scholar Barabra Winckler, from the University of Münster, visited the University of Jordan in October 2024  and met with our group members to work on her AGYA-funded project "Assessing the Palestinian Experience Through Literature and Arts: Topics, Formats and Media for Public Outreach". During her stay, Dr. Winckler gave a public speech entitled "Endangered Urban Space and Multiple Identities: Physical and Metaphorical Spaces and Dynamics in Zeina Abirached's Autofictional Graphic Novels"  to analyze the different space and border situations in three graphic novels by the Lebanese illustrator, graphic novelist and comic artist Zeina Abirached.

Funded in 2013, AGYA promotes international cooperation on interdisciplinary research among ealy-career scholars with the aim of addressing global challenges and developing solutions to issues of common concern. Interdisciplinary research conducted between researchers from Arab and German cultural backgrounds  helps provide fresh perspectives and create a platform for cross-border dialogue on shared challenges leading to innovative solutions and sustainable research cooperation.
