I am currently a Professor of bioanalysis and Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance Affairs and Accreditation at the School of Pharmacy, the University of Jordan. I obtained my BSc in Pharmacy and MSc in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Jordan. In 2017, I received a PhD degree in the field of bioanalysis from University of Nottingham, UK
Since joining the academic staff at the University of Jordan in 2017, I have excelled in securing research grants, actively participated in several local and international conferences and published more than 50 scientific articles and contributed to three book chapters. I received various fellowships, scholarships, and prizes from prestigious international bodies. I was honored with the 2020 L'Oréal UNESCO For Women in Science Levant Young Talents Program, the Daniel Turnberg Travel Fellowship, and three Erasmus+ Program Staff Mobility for Teaching Scholarships. In 2022, I was selected as one of the 15 international rising talents and received The 2022 L'Oréal UNESCO For Women In Science International Rising Talent Award. Additionally, I was awarded the 2022-2023 Fulbright Visiting Scholar Fellowship where I spent nine months as a visiting scientist at the West Coast Metabolomics Center in CA, USA.
My research interests focus on biomarker discovery and employing advanced analytical strategies (e.g metabolomics, pharmacometabolomic, proteomics) to deepen our understanding of disease pathogenesis, particularly in as cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, and discover new diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers. Furthermore, I aim to identify new therapeutic targets and investigate the mechanism of action/toxicity of pharmacological compounds and drugs.
