This study aims to explore the metabolic and hormonal alterations in patients with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and asthma-COPD overlap (ACO). Using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for measuring thyroid hormones and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) for metabolomic profiling, the research will investigate distinct metabolic signatures and potential biomarkers to aid in differential diagnosis. Additionally, it will examine the relationship between thyroid function and metabolic disturbances across these chronic respiratory conditions, offering new insights into their underlying mechanisms.
