These corners host a variety of activities, including language practice sessions, cultural events, and seminars, fostering a deeper understanding of the respective languages and cultures.
Korean Corner: This space provides students with opportunities to practice the Korean language and immerse themselves in Korean culture through events such as traditional games, cooking classes, and discussions on Korean society.
Turkish Corner was opened on May 13, 2013 by TIKA (Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency). Prime Minister's Advisor Dr. Bekir KARLIĞA, Ministr of Education Nebi AVCI, President of Yunus Emre Institute Prof. Hayati DEVELİ, Ambassador of Türkiye to Jordan Sedat Önal, president of The University of Jordan Prof. Ekhleif Y. Tarawneh, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages Prof. Zahra Awad at that time and other statesmen of two countries attended the opening ceremony of the Corner.
Russian Corner: On January 19, 2011, the official opening of the Russian Corner took place at the University of Jordan in Amman. The event was held as part of the first official visit of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, to Jordan. The opening ceremony was attended by the General Director of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, Professor of History Vyacheslav Nikonov; Acting President of the University of Jordan, Dr. Abdel Harbjeh; Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Jordan, Alexander Kalugin; as well as representatives of the Russian Embassy, the Foundation, the university administration, faculty, and students. The Russian Corner is designed to accommodate 30 people and is equipped with a modern language laboratory, a rich library, and technical facilities. According to the signed agreement, the Russian Corner is intended exclusively for conducting classes in Russian language and Russian culture.
These language corners not only enhance linguistic proficiency but also promote intercultural competence among students, preparing them for global interactions.
