Dr. Yousef Hamdan participated in the Twentieth General Assembly Meeting of the Scientific Society of Faculties of Arts at Member Universities of the Association of Arab Universities, hosted by the Faculty of Arts at Cairo University on Wednesday and Thursday, July 9–10, 2025. The event aimed to promote academic and cultural cooperation among faculties of arts in the Arab world, and was held under the patronage of Professor Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadek, President of Cairo University, and supervised by Professor Naglaa Raafat Salem, Dean of the Faculty, with the participation of numerous deans of arts faculties from across the region.

The opening session commenced with welcoming remarks by Professor Naglaa Raafat Salem and Professor Mohammad Al-Anaqrah, Secretary-General of the Scientific Society. It also featured a presentation on the history of Cairo University and its Faculty of Arts, followed by a recognition ceremony during which commemorative shields and certificates of appreciation were presented to participants.

The first working session of the General Assembly addressed several core agenda items, most notably preparations for the Society's Third International Conference, as well as setting the dates and venue for the upcoming General Assembly and Executive Committee meetings.

The day's program included a guided tour of the Cairo University campus, followed by a formal luncheon and return of delegations to their residence.

The second day featured the closing session of the General Assembly, which was dedicated to reviewing the status and challenges of the Society's academic journal (The Arab Universities Association Journal for Arts), alongside discussing strategies for its development in form and content, and for enhancing its visibility on both the Arab and international academic stage.

The day also included visits to the University Dome, the Grand Celebration Hall, the Central Library, and the University Museum, culminating in a cultural sightseeing tour of Cairo arranged by the Faculty for its guests.

This distinguished annual meeting serves as a platform for deans of arts faculties and representatives of Arab universities to exchange perspectives and experiences, and to deliberate on academic matters relevant to the advancement of the humanities and social sciences in Arab higher education institutions.
