The Advanced Materials and Catalysis for Energy, Environment and Detection (AMCEED) research group brings together leading scientists whose collective work advances sustainable energy, environmental remediation, and high-performance detection technologies. Prof. Zayed Al-Hamamre contributes major advancements in renewable fuels, biomass-derived catalysts, and sustainable materials for cleaner energy systems. Prof. Reyad Awwad Shawabkeh, consistently recognized among the world’s top 2% most influential scientists, is distinguished for his pioneering work in surface science, heterogeneous catalysis, CO₂ capture, and the development of functional adsorbents from industrial waste. Prof. Ibnelwaleed A. Hussein, also ranked in the top 2% globally for many years, strengthens the group’s expertise in polymers, surfactants, and advanced materials for energy and interface applications. Prof. Mohammad Al-Shannag enhances the group’s environmental and process-engineering profile through innovations in water treatment, pollutant removal, and sustainable industrial processes. Prof. Mustafa Nasser contributes to the synthesis and application of catalytic and adsorbent materials for energy and environmental systems, while Prof. Sagheer Onaizi advances nanocomposite and graphene-based adsorbent technologies for water purification and sensing. Prof. Ali Al Shami, a specialist in membrane and separation science, enriches the group’s capabilities in selective separations and purification technologies. Together, these researchers elevate AMCEED as a regional and global contributor to cutting-edge materials research, catalysis development, and environmentally focused technological innovation.​
