​Professor Ibnelwaleed Ali Hussein is a Research Professor at the Gas Processing Center, College of Engineering, Qatar University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical and Materials Engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada, in 1999, and his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering (First Class Honours) from the University of Khartoum in 1985. Before joining Qatar University, he served as Professor and Assistant Director at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia. His research interests include polymer rheology, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), and the behaviour of complex fluids. Professor Hussein has authored more than 110 peer-reviewed papers, completed over 30 research projects, and supervised about 40 graduate students. He is a recipient of several KFUPM Distinguished Researcher Awards and serves on editorial boards such as the Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering. He is also an active member of the Society of Rheology and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).​
