University of Jordan Scholar Publishes in World’s Highest-Impact Journal

Professor Malik Juweid, a professor of nuclear radiology at the University of Jordan (UJ), has published a scientific review in CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians, one of the most renowned and the highest-rated medical journal in the world, with an impact factor of 521.6.

The review, titled "Beyond Fluorodeoxyglucose: Molecular Imaging of Cancer in Precision Medicine", explores the latest advancements in molecular imaging and its role in improving cancer diagnosis and treatment. It also discusses the transition from traditional imaging techniques to more precise and personalized approaches, contributing to enhanced patient care.

The study was conducted in collaboration with researchers from the University of Jordan, the American University of Beirut, and research centers and universities in France, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Juweid is a highly published researcher with over 150 scientific papers published in prestigious journals and has over 11,300 citations, with an h-index of 40 according to Scopus. He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Jordan Medical Journal and is a member of the Bibliometric research group at the University of Jordan.​











Under the supervision of Dr. Tamam Alsarhan, students from the Artificial Intelligence Department at the University of Jordan won second place in the Computer Vision track at the Arab Olympiad for Artificial Intelligence for their project titled ‘Detecting People Under Rubble’.  The event was held on April 26, 2025 at the Landmark Hotel in Amman.
