Priv.-Doz. Dr. rer. medic. Philipp Lohmann is a senior researcher and team leader at the Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine (INM-4) at Forschungszentrum Juelich, Germany, and a guest scientist at the University Hospital RWTH Aachen. With a PhD in Theoretical Medicine and a habilitation in Medical Physics, Dr. Lohmann has authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications and holds a strong interdisciplinary background in neuro-oncology, nuclear medicine, and artificial intelligence.
His work focuses on AI-based diagnostic and prognostic tools, particularly in brain tumor imaging using PET and radiomics. He has received numerous awards, including the Alavi-Mandell Award (2024) and Innovation Plus Award (2023), and is actively involved in leading European research initiatives such as the EORTC Brain Tumor Group and the BRATS Brain Metastases Challenge.
