About:

Dr. Kais Al Balbissi is a distinguished cardiologist and academic leader with extensive experience in medical education and healthcare quality improvement. He earned his medical degree with honors from Jordan University of Science and Technology. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at East Tennessee State University (ETSU). He pursued further specialization in Interventional Cardiovascular Medicine at the Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Al Balbissi has held numerous leadership roles in academia and clinical practice. At ETSU, he served as Chairman of the Cardiology Department, Director of Interventional Cardiology, and Associate Director of the Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship. He was pivotal in establishing a center of excellence for cardiovascular care at Johnson City Medical Center.

Returning to Jordan, he contributed significantly to Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) and later the University of Jordan, where he currently serves as Assistant Dean of Medicine for Digital Transformation and AI. He has led initiatives in quality improvement, accreditation, and curriculum development.

An accomplished researcher and educator, Dr. Al Balbissi has received multiple awards, including the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award. His research interests focus on Digital health and Artificial Intelligence, high-risk coronary interventions, cardiogenic shock and heart failure management, and structural heart disease interventions.​
