Abstract—This study aimed to reveal the impact of teaching using the AI-based intelligence platform Midjourney in developing the skills of designing animation characters among students of Multimedia Design course at the University of Jordan. The study used the quasi-experimental approach, and the study members consisted of (60) male and female students from the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Jordan. The sample was divided into two groups: the first was an experimental group, consisting of (32) male and female students who studied using the educational application based on Artificial Intelligence Midjourney, and the second was a control group, consisting of (28) male and female students who studied in the traditional way. The study tool consisted of a note card to measure the amount of improvement in the skills of designing animation characters in the Multimedia Design course, and its validity and reliability were verified. The results revealed that there were statistically significant differences at the significance level of (α = 0.05) between the arithmetic means of both groups in the post-performance of animation character design skills in favor of the experimental group's performance, attributed to the teaching method using the AI-based application Midjourney. The study concluded that it is necessary to integrate the AI application Midjourney into the teaching strategies for students of the animation character design course at the University of Jordan, and in other graphic design courses.
