About:

Dr Anita Gohel is a Clinical Professor and Program Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at the University of Florida’s College of Dentistry. She earned her BDS from Calcutta University in 1991, followed by advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and a PhD in Biomedical Science from the University of Connecticut, completed in 1996 and 1998 respectively.

A board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist since 2000, Dr Gohel has held significant academic and leadership roles at major U.S. dental institutions, including The Ohio State University and Boston University. Her clinical and research interests center on advanced 2D and 3D imaging, radiographic diagnosis of jaw lesions, medication-related osteonecrosis, TMJ morphology, and image-based artificial intelligence applications. 

She has contributed extensively to the field through peer-reviewed publications, national committee leadership, and service as President and Immediate Past-President of the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology. Her work has been recognized with numerous teaching awards and honors, including induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary dental society in 2023.

Dr Gohel continues to advance clinical radiology and dental research as an educator, researcher, and national leader in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology​.
