M. B. M. Al-Abbas is an associate professor and a faculty member at the Department of Visual Arts, which is a part of the School of Art and Design in the University of Jordan. Al-Abbas is an A/R/Tographer. A/R/Tography is an approach of professorship that combines being a practising artist, researcher and teacher. He received his PhD in Fine Art Studies from Sultan Idris Education University/Malaysia. He also gained a Master of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Yarmouk University/Jordan. Al-Abbas has been practising Art/Research/Teaching across countries and higher education institutions such as the Scientific Collage of Design/Oman Limkokwing University of Creative Technologies/Malaysia and Sultan Qaboos University/Oman. He designed, planned and taught graduate and postgraduate programmes and courses in Art and Design Methodologies, Contemporary Art, Aesthetics and Criticism, Islamic Art, Figurative Drawing and Painting. He is a member of several associations, such as the Association of Modern & Contemporary Art of the Arab World, Iran & Turkey and the Jordanian Plastic Artists Association. When he was 16 in 1999, he Co-Authored a Book published under the title (Pachamama) by the United Nations environment program (Global Environment Outlook for Young People) at Peace Child International HQs London, United Kingdom.
