During the solar eclipse observation in Jordan in 2015, a field trip was organized by Dr. Alaa Al-Azzam for students from the Department of Physics at the University of Jordan to the archaeological site of Umm Qais. Special eclipse glasses were used to safely observe the event without causing harm to the eyes.
On March 20, 2015, Jordan experienced a partial solar eclipse. The eclipse began around 11:15 AM Eastern European Time (EET), reached its maximum at approximately 12:46 PM EET, and concluded by 2:04 PM EET. During the peak, about 14% of the Sun's surface was obscured by the Moon.
