Dr. Ala’a Azzam, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Jordan, participated in the 14th National Popular Astronomy Festival, held in Constantine, Algeria, from October 8 to 10, 2015, alongside three female students from the department. The event was organized by the Sirius Astronomy Association in celebration of World Space Week.
This participation reflects the university's ongoing commitment to engaging in regional and international scientific forums and providing students with opportunities to gain exposure to diverse experiences in the field of astronomy.
Dr. Azzam and her students actively took part in the festival's activities, including lectures and specialized workshops. The 2015 edition focused on the theme: "Exoplanets and Small Bodies in the Solar System," marking the 20th anniversary of the discovery of the first exoplanet.
The festival served as a valuable platform for scientific and cultural exchange and offered opportunities to build collaborative bridges between the University of Jordan and various Arab astronomy associations and institutions.
This experience also highlights Dr. Azzam’s dedication to providing hands-on learning opportunities for her students, enriching their academic journey, and fostering a passion for scientific research and cosmic exploration.
